C. Douglas Evans, M.D.C. Douglas Evans, M.D.

Dr. Evans is an Eye Physician and Surgeon certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology with expertise in anterior segment surgery including cataract, glaucoma, and laser vision correction techniques. He is a graduate of Columbia University and Dartmouth Medical School and completed his residency training in ophthalmology at the State University of New York, Health Science Center.

Dr. Evans has performed over 1000 cataract surgeries in each of the past two years.

He is on the staff at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, Winchester Hospital, and the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary where he is an instructor in ophthalmology.




Renell H. Sinha, O.D.Kimberly Mooney-McNulty, M.D.

"Dr. Kimberly Mooney-McNulty is a Board Certified physician and surgeon who specializes in adult and pediatric ophthalmology and who is on the staff at Melrose-Wakefield and Winchester Hospitals. She is graduate of Dartmouth Medical School and completed her residency at Ohio State Medical Center. She then went on to complete a Fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology at Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Dr. Mooney-McNulty sees patients in both our Wakefield and Winchester offices and is accepting new patients with all major health insurance plans




Rita A. Cherian, ODRita A. Cherian, O.D.

Dr. Cherian provides full-time optometric services to our patients with medical problems such as diabetes, macular degeneration and cataracts as well as doing routine exams for well patients. She also prescribes glasses and fits and prescribes contact lenses.

Dr. Cherian did her undergraduate work at Brandeis. She completed her optometric training at the New England College of Optometry and did a residency at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Jamaica Plain.




Maura TrailMaura Trail, O.D.

Dr. Trail sees patients for routine eye exams; annual eye exams for patients with diabetes and early macular degeneration; for glasses and contact lenses and for treating ocular emergencies.

Dr. Trail completed her undergraduate studies at Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT. She completed her optometric training at New England College of Optometry following which she spent a year of residency training at Brockton Veterans Administration Hospital. She also had 5 years of optometric practice experience in Providence, RI and Haverhill, MA before joining North Suburban Eye Associates.




Kimberly Mooney-McNulty, M.D.Renell H. Sinha, O.D.

Dr. Renell Sinha is a graduate of the New England College of Optometry and is a member of the Massachusetts Society of Optometrists.

Dr. Sinha specializes in contact lens fittings, including keratoconus, and is currently seeing patients in our Winchester and Wakefield offices.




Kathryn Ann Colby, M.D.

Dr. Colby is a Board Certified ophthalmic physician and surgeon whose specialty is the diagnosis and treatment of external diseases and problems of the cornea. She graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a BA and received a PhD from Brown University. She then received her MD from the University of Maryland and did her residency in ophthalmology at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary (MEEI) where she also completed her Fellowship in Cornea and External Disease.

Dr. Colby is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Harvard Medical School, serves as the Director, Fellowship and Corneal Education, Cornea Service at MEEI and as in on staff at Massachusetts General Hospital and MEEI.

Dr. Colby sees patients in our Winchester office by appointment only.




Dr. Mark Hatton

Mark Hatton, MD specializes in ophthalmic plastics/reconstructive surgery.  Dr. Hatton completed residency at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary where he was selected Chief Resident and held the positions of Associate Chief of Ophthalmology and the Director of Eye Trauma.  He remained at Mass eye and ear to complete a fellowship in oculoplastics, orbit and cosmetic surgery. Dr. Hatton's interests include all aspects of oculoplastic surgery, including ptosis, eyelid malposition, lacrimal disorders, skin cancer, disorders of the orbit and cosmetic eyelid surgery.  Dr. Hatton is Board Certified and sees patients in our Wakefield and Winchester offices.




Edward A. Ryan, M.D.

Dr. Ryan is a Board Certified ophthalmologist who specializes in the diagnosis and clinical and surgical treatment of diseases of the retina. Dr. Ryan sees retina patients at our Wakefield office on a regularly scheduled basis. Making use of state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and the latest in drug therapy Dr. Ryan deals with patients with macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and retinal detachments.

Dr Ryan received his Medical Degree from Tufts University School of Medicine, did his residency at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Infirmary and did his Fellowship in Medical and Surgical Retina at the University of California, San Francisco.




Nadia K Waheed, M.D.

Nadia K Waheed, MD specializes in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery. Dr. Waheed completed residency at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary where she was awarded Fellow of the Year award. She remained at Mass eye and Ear to complete a fellowship in Clinical and Surgical Retina. After practicing at Cole Eye Institute at the Cleveland Clinic and at Shifa College of Medicine in Islamabad, Pakistan she returned to Boston to teach at Tufts New England Eye Center. Her clinical and surgical interests cover the full spectrum of vitreoretinal diseases. Dr. Waheed is Board Certified and sees patients in our Wakefield office.




Rodney L. Immerman, O.D.

Dr. Immerman, who specializes in providing low vision services, sees patients in our two offices on a regular, scheduled basis. The disease processes that lead to needing these types of services include macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, Stargardt’s Disease, retinitis pigmentosa and high myopia, among others.

Dr. Immerman graduated with a BA from Boston University, received a BS in Visual Science and his Doctor of Optometry degree from Illinois College of Optometry. He is also a certified visual acuity examiner and refractionist.




Edward F. McCarthy, M.D.

Dr. Edward McCarthy is a graduate of the University of Vermont Medical School and completed his Ophthalmology training at Wills Eye Hospital. He is on staff at Winchester Hospital and is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.

Dr. McCarthy currently sees patients in the Winchester and Wakefield offices.




Omah S. Singh, MD, FRCS

Dr. Singh is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario.

Prior to joining North Suburban Eye Associates Dr. Singh was an attending physician at New England Eye Center and Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Tufts University School of Medicine.

In addition to specializing in glaucoma, lasers, surgery, and cataract surgery Dr. Singh has authored several book chapters and articles and has been involved in clinical and drug trials and has participated in resident teaching.
